The Morning After: Claire Morales and Dalton Kane Cover “Summer Wine”
Originally made popular in 1967 by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood, “Summer Wine” tells the tale of a woman who invites a man over for wine after noticing his silver spurs. The next morning after a night of heavy drinking, the man notices the mysterious woman has left with his possessions, including his “silver spurs, a dollar and a dime“. Claire Morales and Dalton Kane (Chinaski, the Fury) pair together flawlessly, bringing back the mood and nostalgia of the 60’s time period with an ease of contemporary flair. Morales’ vocals are mysterious and enticing, an impeccable balance with Kane’s brooding and baritone voice. The duo also produced a fitting and creative photoshoot to fully assemble the look and feel of their cover for “Summer Wine”.
