• A Place to Bury Strangers – “We’ve Come So Far”

      Upon hearing A Place to Bury Strangers’ new single, ‘We’ve Come So Far’, I’m quite struck by how similar it sounds to The Horrors circa Primary Colours. Both feature signature Garage Rock elements; the discordant reverb, wavering vocals and guttural guitar, all underscored by an unfaltering drumbeat and ambient soundscape. More specifically, I find that Oliver Ackerman and Faris Badwan’s vocals could be almost interchangeable by how alike they sound. But for all the comparable factors, A Place to Bury Strangers manage to give this sound an individual touch through layered vocals and experimental guitar solos.
