Artist Spotlight: Virginia (Vajaja) Meza
Meza's paintings are centered on familiarity while bathing the viewer in invoked emotion. One piece can be heavy, another whimsically optimistic; all are alive and memorable in a naturalistic expression of the best kind.
Artist Spotlight: Yuka Kobayashi
Abstract in a Brakhage sense with defined simplicity of underlying confusion, Yuka Kobayashi (aka St. Discipline) has a ghostly presence of future and past speaking directly to the unsureness of our place, her place, in the now. Originally from Tokyo, currently creating in Berlin, Kobayashi's voice through the breadth of her work carries a warm mystique. Each individual piece created—be it drawing, collage, painting, etching, photography, or the NOT TO BE OVERLOOKED videos (!!!!!!)—stands out solely for itself while offering one more perspective on an everchanging volume of work increasing in substantiality.

Containing disproportionate and excessive features, Gallagher’s contemporary style of overlapping characters represents individuals who live and thrive together despite their differing backgrounds. Each face and feature remains distinct and unique, and although some characters may seem to fade in the background while others jump to our attention, they are all universally interconnected and affect the direction that our lives will inevitably take. Gallagher draws inspiration from dream interpretation…
Artists On Our Radar: Rebecca Chitticks
Artist: Rebecca Chitticks ( Instagram ) I’m a contemporary figurative artist working in oil on canvas. I find my work to be informed by the creeping influence of the digital realm. This sphere that we participate in casually within our day to day life seeps into our unconscious and I feel this influences my artistic practise. Whilst browsing through feeds and skimming streams of data I am constantly soaking up ideas and finding relationships, imagined narratives between disparate threads of information, fragments of pictures, colours and these are used as my references. Oil paint acts as a conduit through which I am able to convey the fleetingness and allure of beauty. I hope to incite emotion through my choice of imagery…
