• Men’s Obsession: Fashion Week

So many fashion shows, men’s included, have weird clothes that look cool, but you could never wear them. Not in the states at least. So, we found three Fashion Week looks that are ready-to-wear and won’t make you look silly. Jack Spade’s collection absolutely killed it this year. Full of great suits and lots of fall-appropriate colors. This is a great example of the nearly one-toned suit with simple variations. A dark brown bag, with slightly lighter shoes, lighter even suit, and the lightest shade on the shirt. It is finished off with a black tie and a lapel flower to match. Fall’s version of blue on blue on blue looks…

  • Amber’s Diary: Going Out With A Bang

This has been both the longest and shortest week of my life.  There were so many shows that at one point I did not know what day it was.  Alas, NYFW has come to a close and we are moving on to London. But, we are not quite done talking about New York. Narciso Rodriguez was without a doubt my favorite show to work this season.  Everything was running smoothly… except for a few minor details (but we figured that out).  The collection was very beautifully constructed – it consisted of architectural skirts and dresses with capes.  My favorite dress was the orange dress featured below.  It is absolutely stunning,…

  • Amber’s Diary: The Complete Experience

I knew I was going to do a TON of walking, but man am I sore!  I have shin splints, my knees are killing me, and I have three bruises on my legs.  Fashion week sure does put your body through hell, but let me tell you, it’s worth it. So, lets talk Band of Outsiders – probably one of the coolest shows so far.  They had a giant screen that showed an image of an LA street, and they had a huge “HOLLY” sign.  The image on the screen moved with the music.  It was a complete experience, and let me tell you, that experience was amazing.  Not only…

  • Amber’s Diary: Let The Shows Begin

Let me forewarn you: since I am working these shows, I am not allowed a camera.  I am only allowed to use my phone.  Since it is a phone I cannot get a still shot.  Instead I will be sharing videos of the final walk.  Enjoy! So, after two days of long hours at the office, I finally worked my first show of the SS14 season of NYFW.  It was the rag & bone show on Friday, September 6. Marcus Wainwright and David Neville did an outstanding job mixing masculine varsity sweaters with feminine, silky slips.  And can we talk about that orange lip?! Today I worked the Louise Goldin…

  • Amber’s Diary: Livin’ The Dream

Let me introduce myself:  my name is Amber, I take photos, my cat is my soul mate, and I am the coolest person you will ever meet.  That is, until you meet Beyonce.  Right now you may be thinking, “Amber, why are you introducing yourself?” Well, that is because I want you to know a little about myself.  “What are you going to be writing about?”  Well pumpkin, I am here to tell you the story of a small town girl going to New York to live out her dreams!  Cliché? Yes, I know. So let’s get to the dream.  The dream is to be front row, sitting next to…

  • DIY: Runway Eyes

As some of you may know, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, or, what some of you may call “New York Fashion Week,” has just ended. If you were following along like we were, you have all been blown away. Most importantly, I think we are all wanting to know how the hell we can get that look! Though the clothes are typically the most notable part of fashion week, the make up styles are close in the running. I see these looks, and I think that they are so neat. However, I oftentimes find my self thinking, “could I ever wear that in real life?” Runway style is supposed to be over…
