Fresh Threads: Burger City

What We’re Loving: VERUM
Take a look into your closet. Chances are you’ll see a rainbow of cheap tanks, flimsy tees, and trendy-for-about-five-minutes skirts filling in the gaps between your more precious pieces. It’s nearly impossible to avoid buying into the massive industry of fast fashion, especially if you’re on a student’s budget and like to switch up your look from day to day, and with high fashion becoming cheapened by rampant logomania and a decreased attention to the craftsmanship that makes designer desirable in the first place, these so-called investment pieces often aren’t worth the investment anymore. Fashion is art, but it’s hard to see the artistry when fashion becomes more about…
What We’re Loving: Clashist
The first collage I ever made was for the 100th day of third grade. I (aka my mom) cut out 100 pictures of Elmo and pasted them on to a poster. The second collage I ever made was a deranged combination of Vogue and Tiger Beat cut-outs and Lisa Frank stickers, but mostly just pictures of teenage heart throbs. So, in memoriam of the day after the day of love, we bring you Clashist. The collage has grown up but remains deranged, nonetheless. Clashist has taken the faces of Billy Murray, James Franco, and Zach Galifianakis and brought them to the masses on t-shirts and leggings. I don’t know about…
What We’re Loving: OLOW
We’re totally obsessed with the latest streetwear trend that has been going around, but how can you wear this trend without looking like Miley “Ratchet” Cyrus? Well, luckily for you guys, a fantastic French brand known as OLOW has shed a new light on the indie-streetwear look. They’ve combined form fitting cuts with leisurely fabrics for a perfect everyday look that’ll still show off your rebellious side. Don’t believe us? Just take a look at their latest lookbook titled “Piss & Lose.” We wish we could be as cool as this guy.

DO CELF: An Art
Art? What is “art” in today’s fast paced society riddled with modern technology and seemingly no room for creativity? Well, with the first installation of this blog (which I have honestly no direction for), I am going to introduce a few movers and shakers from Dallas’s “contemporary art scene”. Fancy, huh? No, not really. These boys would want to be called anything but fancy, they are just two young men “doing art”. Over my much-needed winter break from Texas A&M University I attended, for the first time, a break event in Dallas. Which is a world all of it’s own, a come back subculture of dancers itching to express themselves…
