For those of you looking to get into some trouble pre-weekend, Sailor Poon is bringing you a party to end all parties tomorrow night at The Museum of Human Achievement in Austin, TX. The all-girl punk/garage-rock posse are releasing their latest 7″, recorded by Travis Beall at Sweetheart Studios in Austin, TX. Featuring a trio of raw-fueled and assertive tracks with titles like “On the Rag” and “Something Smells”, Sailor Poon doesn’t shy away from themes deemed crude and instead serves it up like it is, no holds barred. Ranging from penetrating screams to gravelly vocals, Sailor Poon spits out lyrics that compels the listener’s full attention, interspersed with driving sax solos.

Joining Sailor Poon tomorrow night will be sets by Yes Ma’am Brass Band, Popper Burns, & DJ King Khan (of King Khan & The Shrines/King Khan & BBQ Show). The vinyl release party will be all ages and a $5 cover at the door. As an extra bonus it’ll also be a celebration for members’ Billie & Mariah’s joint birthday party, so be sure to bring your own beer to celebrate extra hard! Ether Wave will be providing a light show for the duration of the music sets and Sailor Poon plus Flyers4Nothin will be contributing art installations. All proceeds of the vinyl sales during the show will be donated to Planned Parenthood, and the vinyl will also be up for sale on their Bandcamp page for purchase.
