After a long winter of dirty snow and crowded trains, I was determined to spend some quality time with nature this summer. So I took some time off of work, packed up my car and boyfriend, and set out for West Texas to cross “Hike Big Bend” off of my bucket list. I’ve always thought of myself as a natural city dweller, but after this trip I can’t stop daydreaming about just how satisfying it would be to spend a year (or a lifetime) soaking in the beauty and mystery of the desert. Needless to say, it was quite an adventure.

These pictures were taken in Big Bend National Park, on the road, and in the tiny desert towns of Marfa, Alpine, and Terlingua, TX.
