Where can you get jewelry that has been reconstructed from vintage odds-and-ends and masterfully put together into a one-of-a-kind piece that will knock you off your feet? From Amity Treasures, of course.

Jackie Myers, the mastermind behind Amity Treasures, has been an entrepreneur since the age of 14, “In high school I made a lot of stretchy string bracelets and realized I could make cool jewelry from unique vintage pieces. So from then on I started going with my mom to flea markets and thrift stores to find unique pieces of jewelry. I take the pieces apart and reassemble them into unique, quirky vintage jewelry compositions.” A major pro for me when looking at Myers’ stuff is that all of her jewelry is one of a kind, unlike the bulk of jewelry you’ll find at your local department store, which has been mass-produced. Myers’ pieces are unique – all of the salvaged, vintage trinkets and antique jewelry that she uses have a history behind them and a special kind of flair.

Her keen eye for putting the various, vintage pieces together is apparent by the success of Amity Treasures. Besides selling her work at local boutiques and shops (in the Oklahoma City area), Myers has sold to various states in the United States (from California to Massachusetts) as well as overseas (Australia). But, she didn’t stop there. Myers’ jewelry has even been featured on television – an MTV awards show, “…celebrities from some TV shows got to wear my jewelry, which was really cool.”

Not convinced to check out this artist yet? Maybe this will do the job – Myers will custom make a piece just for you upon request, ”People can tell me their style, favorite jewelry styles, favorite colors, symbols, etc. and I will make a piece of jewelry for them. Custom fit.” It doesn’t get much better than that, folks.

You can check out this artist online, or, if you feel like making a road trip, Myers has an upcoming show in Oklahoma City, “I often sell my jewelry at different antique and craft shows. I have an upcoming show, called The Girlie Show. This is their tenth and final year to show in Oklahoma City. It is November 1st and 2nd. I believe this will be my fourth or fifth time to be a part of the show – it is an awesome show!” I’ve actually been to The Girlie Show a number of times and have always loved it! They have awesome, female artists that promote tons of local art. I highly encourage making the trip to see it for yourself!
